Bowing to angry protests from opposition parties and farmers, the government Friday agreed to restore the earlier sugarcane prices.
The issue was resolved at an all-party meeting convened by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who is also Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha. The government has also decided to bring in a new bill on sugarcane pricing in parliament. view complete news.
